Fermin and his team completely renovated the exterior of our 52-year-old house in Mill Valley with Hardie Plank siding and new windows- some of them tall with trapezoidal tops. They also fully renovated a side deck and a car deck. When we first met him, Fermín stated that his approach is to do good work for a fair price – and that is exactly what he delivered. He relentlessly focuses on quality and good detailing. His brother and co-owner is an exceptional wood artisan and a consummate professional – he strives for perfection in his work! Fermin and his team work on a regular schedule- M-F, 8-5 and are very punctual. They kept the job-site clean during the day and always cleaned up before leaving. Our neighbors also noticed this and remarked that the team was very respectful and considerate. Fermin took care of the County Building and Planning processes efficiently– a real blessing! Fermin is honest – he gave us unexpected credit for items such as less than expected concealed wood damage, less replacement of insulation etc. We were more than satisfied with the results of the project and have now retained the firm for major upgrade of a house in San Francisco.

I’ve just completed a third project with Fermin and Buildrite Bay Area. Once again, this construction team has met or exceeded the cost and schedule objectives. I’ve worked with many contractors over the last 18 years on behalf of my clients and for my own projects. I have been working with Fermin and Adolpho and their crew for the last 5 years and they are by far the best team I have worked with in my 15 yrs of being an Interior Designer. We used Fermin and Adolfo to renovate and update our 100-year-old home over the last 2 years. I can’t say enough good things — not only do they actually do the majority of the work (versus outsourcing to vendors) but they were reasonably priced, transparent, HONEST and communicative with any changes. We never felt surprised or questioned costs (we had with our prior contractor). Most importantly, they do exceptional work. No cutting corners or using cheap materials. They care about their clients and their work, and it shows. They are also great about coming back for small fixes after the fact which never happens with other contractors! What started as one project grew to now having renovated every room in our house. We have referred them to our neighbors and friends. They are busy so the hardest part is getting on their calendar. But it’s worth the wait to get someone who will respect and care for your house and their work.

Fermin and his crew did an excellent job of renovating two bathrooms, a laundry room and the kitchen of our 70-year-old home. His team of craftsmen were competent, paid attention to detail, cleaned up daily and were pleasant to have around.  Fermin had good suggestions, communicated regularly, and had our interests foremost in mind while completing the project.

We are big fans of Fermin Alvarado and his crew. They have done a super job on a 7-mo remodel project on our 1951 mid century home in the hills of Sausalito. The job entailed a total gut job of the main bedroom and bath on the lower level. Custom sofa in media room, Custom cabinets in bathroom, steam shower and gorgeous tile work. My closet is a work of art. Built in sliding doors, a custom dresser. All custom woodwork was built by his brother Adolfo, who is a true artist. The crew met the budget that was initially agreed upon, timing for the job was within our expectations, of course there were some supply chain issues due to covid and a backlog of shipping containers waiting in Oakland. Fermin was always available to answer questions. He and his crew were always onetime and kept the job site tidy. They were friendly and respectful to our family and the neighbors. Of course, there’s always things that need adjusting or repaired and Fermin was very responsive and took care of any issues!
